The 2010 Commonwealth Games (CWG) theme song, ‘Swagatham’, composed by Oscar winner AR Rahman, and it was realesed in Gurgaon on Saturday. The choreographer Shyamak Dawar’s group performed on the beautiful theme song ‘Swagatham’ in a gala ceremony.
The 2010 CWG Organizing Committee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi launched the Theme Song ‘Swagatham’ after the sparkling performance. After launch of theme song, Kalmadi said that 34 days are left over in CWG games and assured all the preparation will be finished. Assuring flourishing games, he hailed the theme song composed by Rahaman.

After the song was disclosed, Rahman said that he could not choose on the song till the very last instant. He also said that “I feel honoured to get the opportunity to compose the theme song for the mega-event; It was not an easy task; I had started composing it six months ago and finished just last night”.

The IOA President also said that the event was not only concerning New Delhi and that it was an issue of national pride. He also said that“We are Team India and we will make sure that the CWG are a success”.

The song inspired people with its words ‘Jiyo, Utho, Badho, Karo, Jeeto’. The song has been composed and sung by Rahman. And Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit was also present at the launch ceremony. And video are available on YouTube.
